🧠 Weekly Reflections #1: Is this thing on?

Hey everyone –

Caleb here. Welcome to the first ever edition of Weekly Reflections! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

The past two months have been a transformative period for me regarding what I want to share on this platform. After A LOT of trial and error, overthinking, and reflection, I discovered that what is worth sharing was right in front of me the whole time: Insights, takeaways, and lessons straight from my journal.

I've become more aware of the power of journaling through Teresa Ambile's work The Progress Principle earlier this year and have been practicing it since. As I've gotten to experiment w/ it and try out different prompts documenting my responses, there came a point where I realized in my weekly review sessions that "this is actually insightful."

I hope it is for you all too. Let's get into it. 🫑

πŸ’Ž Reflections from the Journal

  • After pitching to an investment fund for the first time, I think my biggest takeaway is that great pitches create trust. Creating trust in your pitches should be one of the leading questions/slides in the pitch creation process, especially as a first-year.
  • Be patient with yourself by knowing that the process of having a consistent, persistent way of productivity takes a lot of trial and error.
  • "There is never enough time in the world; stop saying 'I don't have time', because you never will; you just have to make time for it."
  • The purpose of a task management system is to keep track of your progress. You don't keep track of what you need to do to make progress. You keep track of your progress to know what you need to do.
  • A great question to start your day with: What kind of memories do I want to create in my life today?
  • The most grounded place to find and root purpose is in your personhood. Your purpose is in who you're choosing to become. Your purpose isn’t your career. It isn’t your calling. It isn’t the outcome of a goal. It’s the person you have chosen to become. When you face a crisis or setback, it’s just the context for becoming that person.

That's all I got for today. Love you guys, and see you next week! - C.
